Der historische und unter Denkmalschutz stehende Treppenturm des ehemaligen Wengenklosters blieb dabei unangetastet. In den Geschossen -1, 0 und 1 fand eine Kita ihren Platz. Diese besteht aus einer Gruppe Ü3 (25 Kinder) und zwei Gruppen U3 (je 10 Kinder). Die notwendigen Mehrzweckräume sind im Untergeschoss und im 1. Obergeschoss untergebracht. Der neue Außenspielbereich der Kita im Gebäudeinnenhof ist vom 1. Obergeschoss aus mit einer Außentreppe über einen Fluchtbalkon zu erreichen. Die Raumgestaltung des Kindergartens ist durch die weißen Wände, Naturholztüren und orangefarbenen Lino-Boden eher schlicht gehalten, um der Kreativität der Kinder Raum zu geben. Dies wird durch bunte Farb- und Magnetfelder an den Wänden unterstützt. An diesen Flächen können die Kinder selbst kreativ werden, indem sie z.B. eigene Bilder aufhängen. Im 2. Obergeschoss des Gebäudes ist die Abteilung Kinderbetreuung der Stadt mit ihren Büros eingezogen. Es sind etwa 10 bis 14 Arbeitsplätze entstanden. Die bestehenden Wohnungen im 2. Obergeschoss wurden auf den neuesten Stand der Technik gebracht.
