Das Ursprungsgebäude aus dem Jahr 1969 steht im Süden des Grundstücks, im Norden befindet sich ein Anbau aus dem Jahr 1985. Um einen zentralen Eingang zu schaffen, ist die Erweiterung nördlich des Bestandsgebäudes angeordnet. Er besteht aus zwei großen Baukörpern, die an das von Hullak Rannow entwickelte Modul „Die Clevere Kita“ angelehnt sind. Dazwischen befinden sich kleinere Baukörper zur Verbindung. Die Gebäude sind eingeschossig, ohne Unterkellerung. Dem Grundriss folgend ist die Erweiterung mit ortstypischen einzelnen Satteldächern ausgebildet. Die einzelnen Satteldächer gliedern die Baumasse in maßstäbliche Größen und sind in Größe und Typologie dem Bestandsgebäude angepasst und nachempfundenen. Das Grundprinzip sind offene Innenräume bis zum First. Die Erweiterung ist in vier Bereiche gegliedert. Den zentralen Mittelflur, den ruhiger gelegenen Krippenbereich mit angegliedertem Verwaltungsbereich am nördlichen Gebäudeende und der dritte Kitagruppe im Bestandsgebäude. Die Erweiterung von 1985 muss aufgrund ihrer Kleinteiligkeit partiell abgebrochen werden, der Hauptteil wird zur Kita-Gruppe und Küche umgebaut. Die ost-west-orientierten Aufenthaltsräume erhalten bodentiefe Verglasungen für eine weitgehend natürliche Belichtung der teilweise großen Raumtiefen. Mit Ausnahme der Nordfassaden werden alle Fenster mit Sonnenschutz ausgestattet. Die kurze Bauzeit verlangt einen hohen Vorfertigungsgrad, möglichst ohne Trockenzeiten (z.B.: Holzbau, Trockenestriche etc.).
